Welcome to Resident Paraguay,
Today, I want to share with you the reasons why I choose to spend part of my year in this unique country.
1. An Unexpected Discovery
My adventure in Paraguay began about a year ago, with the intention of staying just a week to get my residency card. Coming from Brazil, I had low expectations and was ready to leave. However, as soon as I arrived, I was charmed. Instead of staying a week, I stayed a month. The tranquility, greenery, and optimal working atmosphere convinced me to extend my stay.
2. A Warm Welcome
One of the first things that struck me about Paraguay was the hospitality of the people. Unlike other countries where the feeling of foreignness can be overwhelming, here I immediately felt at home. Even without speaking Spanish when I arrived, the kindness and patience of Paraguayans made my integration easy. The small daily interactions, whether with street vendors or neighbors, reinforce this sense of belonging.
3. A Favorable Climate
Although Paraguay can experience extremes, with very hot summers, the climate is generally pleasant, especially for those like me who enjoy the sun and warmth. The winter is mild and allows you to fully enjoy the days, between sunshine and moderate rainfall.
4. A Work-Friendly Environment
Paraguay surprised me with its ability to foster productivity. The calm of the city, combined with good energy and a community of expatriates and remote workers, creates an ideal environment for focusing and advancing on projects. Coworking spaces like Werking are places of exchange and motivation where you can meet professionals from diverse backgrounds.
5. A Strategic Position in Latin America
Living in Paraguay also offers the advantage of being at the heart of Latin America, making it easy to travel to other countries like Brazil or Bolivia. Although flights are not as cheap as in Europe, Paraguay’s central location makes it easy to explore the continent.
Conclusion
Paraguay has become my preferred destination, where I choose to return each year for several months. Beyond the practical and economic advantages, it’s the quality of life, the warm hospitality of the people, and the work-friendly environment that attract me.
If you’re considering expatriating or obtaining a residency card in Paraguay, I can only encourage you to explore this surprising country.
